These days I've been reading the book 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. People have been telling me that I am a very advanced reader, because they say it is a 7th grade level book! To me, that explains why I am very slow as I'm reading it. I'm almost done with it, but I started it 2 months ago! That's a long time for me. Anyway, I have read lots of books like that; books that take a while and are very difficult. The good thing is: when I'm done reading, I feel proud about what I've accomplished. Also, after reading a very hard book, my knowledge grows and I can read lots more books of that level or even harder!
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that my bike was too small for me. Yesterday my mom took me to a huge bike store to get a new one! I got a charcoal colored bike with gears and hand breaks. Now, up until yesterday, I had always had a back-pedaling break and a gearless bike. You can imagine that I was terrified!!! After we bought the bike, my mom took me to an empty parking lot to ride in. I practiced hand-braking and changing gears. It was fun! I now realize that if something is hard and different, just try it and you'll get used to it. You might even think it's fun, like I did!
I've always wondered how the shape of a heart symbol was made. It has the same name as the heart in your body, but the two hearts have nothing to do with eachother!!! Also, if some one is kind, you say that they "have a good heart," but that doesn't mean they have a healthy heart just because they are kind! So there is also a feelings-heart, which is what people are talking about in that expression I mentioned. Symbol-heart, body-heart, and feelings-heart. That's confusing! Why do they all have the same name?
